How this calculator works
Markdown is plain text with a few symbols for structure: # for a heading, - for a list item, backticks for code. HTML is what a browser actually reads:
headings,
lists,
elements. A Markdown to HTML converter reads the Markdown, works out its structure, and writes the matching HTML elements. Because HTML is what Markdown was created to produce, this is the most direct conversion of the set.
Worked example: paste "# Markdown to HTML, in one glance" followed by a checklist and a small table, and the tool produces
Markdown to HTML, in one glance
, a
with checkbox list items, and a real
with
and
. A fenced block marked ```js becomes

, so syntax highlighters pick it up automatically. The live preview shows exactly how the result renders, while the HTML source tab shows the markup to copy into a CMS, a blog editor, or an email template.
Two things make this converter safer than pasting documents into a random site. First, everything runs locally in your browser: the document is never uploaded, stored or logged. Second, the output is sanitized by construction: any HTML typed into the input is escaped, never executed, so a stray tag in a pasted document becomes harmless text instead of running code. The HTML you copy is safe to paste into WordPress, Ghost, or any CMS that accepts raw HTML. For the reverse direction, pair this tool with the JSON Formatter and Base64 tools in the same developer cluster.
