How this calculator works
An image resizer changes the pixel dimensions of a photo: making it smaller for a fast-loading page, or shaping it to the exact size a platform wants. This tool does the whole job inside your browser: drop in JPG, PNG or WebP files, pick a mode, and download the resized versions. Nothing is uploaded to a server, which matters for personal photos and client work, and it also means there is no queue, no watermark and no daily limit.
Five modes cover the real jobs. Exact size sets both dimensions, with three ways to handle a mismatched aspect ratio: fit keeps the whole photo inside the box, fill crops the edges to cover the box, and stretch forces the exact box. Width only and height only scale one side and let the other follow the aspect ratio, so nothing ever looks squashed. Percentage shrinks or grows by a share of the original, handy when you know a photo is twice as big as it needs to be. The social presets remove the lookup work: Instagram post and story, Facebook post, LinkedIn banner, YouTube thumbnail, X post, Pinterest pin and a square profile size, each at the dimensions those platforms actually display.
Two details separate a good resize from a blurry one. First, this tool never enlarges by default: scaling a small image up only invents pixels and softens it, so upscaling stays off unless you tick the box. Second, resizing and compressing are different jobs: resizing cuts pixel count, which is usually the bigger file-size win, while quality controls how hard the remaining pixels are squeezed. Pair this resizer with the Image Compressor on this site when a resized photo still needs to fit a file-size limit, for example a portal that rejects anything over 100 KB.
